The basic mission is to give Brasted a voice on the Internet
I am familiar with and concerned about the problems facing rural villages today. The Internet presents an outstanding opportunity to rekindle community spirit through newsletters, notice boards, email facilities and other features I hope to provide over time.

It is also a wonderful tool for archiving people's memories and stories of life as it was before all this technology existed.
My project will ultimately provide information about Brasted in a form that is standardised - and hopefully easy to use.  Forget about trailing through search engines to find information piecemeal - simply use www.brasted.co.uk That is what I want to achieve.

I also welcome any contribution that the Parish Council would like to make to this website. Additionally, I'm also interested in things that no Parish Council or "serious" body would include on its website.
It is also important that any information be independent of local bodies, so that all local opinions can be "heard".

My aim is to provide all the information people need to know or would be interested in learning about the village of Brasted. There is such a range of possibilities, for instance historical data (a huge category all by itself), current issues such as speeding or dog-fouling and how they are being dealt with, future events such as the village fete or school play, times and dates of church services, accommodation available, whether the shop has an off-licence, whether there is a baby-sitting circle and who is the contact person. I hope to include photographs and maps, and fun items such as quizzes. I would like to provide an electronic notice board, where you can state your point of view on local topics and read what others have to say. Together we have the opportunity to create something really interesting and useful.
