Around 20
people set off on a lovely bright sunny Sunday to complete
that annual Brasted sponsored Country Walk, this year
raising funds for the new stage curtains for the Village
Hall
The 2005 walk took the participants out to the North of
the village via the Church and up onto the North Downs Way
heading out towards Westerham, then looping back towards
the Village via Charmans Farm. At Beggars Lane the walk
split, those on the shortened version headed home to
Brasted, those completing the 2nd half turned right and
after refreshments at Westerham set off towards Hosey Hill
and French Street, finally crossing to the Chart cricket
club and back to Brasted.
The weather was kind but the week’s earlier rain made the
going in some places very muddy and heavy, but we hoped
the walk was enjoyed by all.
Thank you to everyone that took part; to the walkers,
their sponsors, to the ladies that provided the
refreshments at the end of the walk, Penny for checking
our directions and our advertisers, (The
Bull Inn, Fox & Hounds and
Stanhope Arms). Sponsor monies, as always to Judith
Udale as soon as possible please.
As this was the last walk we will be organising we look
forward to taking part next year.
Regards
Gary & Janice Stent
