Brasted History

1861 census for Brasted

A certain police constable who was the first policeman to be murdered in Kent (in Snodland - about 1875) was a lodger (aged 25) in a house in Brasted occupied by Blacksmiths, so presumeably that was one of his early postings. He was born in Boughton Monchelsea.

Also that the Rector of Brasted (William B Holland) had 7 children under the age of 12 and a total household of 19 people (of which 9 were servants!)
